This beginner-friendly workshop offers a hands-on introduction to cultivating herbal systems that thrive naturally — from soil preparation to harvest and preservation.
Description
This 4-hour agricultural class guides participants through the essential principles of creating a thriving herbal ecosystem. You’ll gain practical experience in regenerative farming and plant medicine cultivation, learning how to support biodiversity while producing high-quality herbs for wellness and value-added products.
Through field-based demonstrations and guided practice, participants will explore:
Soil Preparation & Regeneration: Composting, mulching, and living soil techniques for herbal health.
Polyculture Design: How to combine companion plants for mutual benefit, pest control, and nutrient balance.
No-Till Gardening: Building soil vitality through natural, low-impact methods.
Harvesting & Preservation: Best practices for drying, curing, and storing herbs to maintain potency.
Value-Added Medicine Making: Simple steps for transforming garden herbs into tinctures, teas, and balms.
Each participant will create their own tincture and take home a bundle of fresh herbs grown from the gardens of Ahimsa Sanctuary.
