The Grounding Pathway: ʻAwa Agricultural Workshop

Discover the wisdom of ʻAwa — a sacred Hawaiian plant cultivated for its grounding and calming qualities.
This experiential workshop invites participants into the heart of Hawaiian agricultural tradition, where ʻAwa (Piper methysticum) has been grown and prepared for generations as a plant of peace, presence, and connection.

We begin in the gardens, learning how ʻAwa thrives in the soil — from propagation and cultivation to harvesting and preparation of its revered root. Participants will gain firsthand experience in sustainable growing practices and the cultural significance of ʻAwa within Hawaiian wellness traditions.

Together, we’ll prepare and share freshly pounded ʻAwa, honoring the lineage of this plant as a bridge between land and spirit. Through guided breathwork and mindful connection, you’ll experience how ʻAwa teaches the balance of stillness, respect, and harmony with nature.

This Agricultural Workshop blends hands-on learning with cultural education, offering a grounded introduction to one of Hawai‘i’s most cherished botanical allies — a true medicine of peace grown from the living soil.
